At least 20 people were injured in a collision between a Quantum and car on the N12 East under the Avalon Cemetery Bridge in Lenasia on Sunday October 4.

Chitra Bodasing, ER24 spokesperson said, “A woman believed to be in her 50’s was found trapped in the car. The ER24 Joburg West Rescue Vehicle was called to the scene to extricate the woman. She was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries.
“A child who had been removed from the same vehicle by bystanders was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. Patients from the Quantum were assessed and were found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.”
Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to local hospitals for further medical care. The exact cause of the collision is unknown. Authorities were on scene to investigate further.
