Elderly man arrested for possession of stolen property

Booysens police continue to arrest more copper thieves in the South.

BOOYSENS – SAPS’ Flash Unit arrested a 63-year-old man who was trying to sell stolen copper cables to a scrap dealer in Booysens on Monday, October 12.

The officers received information about a man who was trying to sell copper cables and followed him to the scrap yard where he was arrested for possession of stolen property.

Copper theft continues to be a challenge which Booysens police are tackling in the South as more and more suspects are caught in possession of copper cables.

The elderly suspect was expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
