Southerners excel in Central Gauteng championship

All five Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club gymnasts performed well in the Central Gauteng championship.

FIVE Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club gymnasts competed at and placed well in the Central Gauteng championship held on September 4 and 5 at Wits University in Johannesburg.

Tamryn Brown (level eight u.13) placed second with all her apparatus (free dance, hoop, ball and clubs) and second overall.

Shana Marreiros (level nine u.15) placed third with free dance, hoop and clubs, second with her ribbon apparatus and third overall.

Ayanda Ntsele (level nine over 15 years) placed first in all her routines and first overall.

Alexia Da Silva (high performance 1) placed first in free dance, second in rope and first overall.

Bethany Delarentis (high performance 1) placed second in free dance, first in rope and second overall.

All these rhythmic gymnasts received their Central Gauteng colours.

Da Silva and Delarentis will be representing Central Gauteng in the national championship on October 6.

Classes are held at the Klipriviersberg Recreational Centre at Peggy Vera Street in Kibler Park. Aspiring gymnasts aged four and up are welcome to visit the centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:00 to 18:00.
