10 injured in a fire in Booysens

Roads were closed next to the scene.

BOOYSENS – THE fire which started around 16:00 on Friday August 28 in a factory (MM Kusha) that makes furniture along Booysens Road next to Chicken Licken, cost major damages.

Kibler Park and Turffontein fire fighters worked together for hours to dowse the fire; though ten people were injured no fatalities were reported so far.

The injured were given oxygen and treated on the scene. The trucks didn’t have enough water. They connected hydrants connections which took a while to connect as there were no hydrants connections equipment.

COURIER spoke to the brother of the owner. He said this will cost them millions as they do not have insurance.

Roads were closed next to the scene.
