Reality TV diva is a South resident

Move over Kim Kardashian, we have our own reality TV star in the South.

REALITY TV darling and media’s It girl, Katlego “Kat” Mohoaduba is a Mondeor resident and recently shared with the COURIER how she deals with fame and dished on her future plans.

Kat shot to fame in 2014 as one of the final three housemates in season three of Big Brother Mzansi. After she was voted out of the reality show, Kat co-hosted a show on Cliff Central before starring in Diski Divas, a reality show that features the exes, wives and girlfriends (WAGs) of South African soccer stars.

“I’ve been living in Mondeor for almost 13 years now. I’ve worked alongside Arye Kellman as his co-host on Cliff Central for a show called #The60 which later changed to #Kellman. I thoroughly enjoyed working at Cliff Central because it gave me an opportunity to engage with celebrities and it actually harvested my passion for radio. The team I worked with made my radio experience extremely pleasant and they ended up being like family to me,” revealed Kat.

Kat is used to being a public figure. “My passion lies in television and radio. My life changed after appearing on Big Brother Mzansi and because I had been in the public eye before Diski Divas wasn’t really a life altering situation for me. The only thing I feel like I have sacrificed is my privacy but with the career path I’ve chosen it is inevitable.”

Her journey to success has not been a superficial one because this beauty is both educated and driven. “I first enrolled for a BCom degree in marketing at Monash University. But I ended up dropping the course to pursue my love for fashion and moved to the London International School of Fashion (LISOF) to study a BA in fashion,” Kat added.

Kat’s experience in the media industry also extends to the marketing and advertising sectors where she worked as an assistant for nine months at Joe Public. Despite being listed as one of Mzansi’s hottest celebrities, Kat does not consider herself a celebrity and believes she still has a lot to achieve. “I’m an aspiring business woman and at present I’m focused on starting up a salon and planting my feet firmly in the entertainment industry.”
