Mashamaite scoops top prizes

Top honours went to one of the top performers this season, Tefu Mashamaite.

TOP honours went to one of the top performers not only in the local side, Kaizer Chiefs, but also in the Premier Soccer League this season, Tefu Mashamaite.

The annual PSL Awards evening 2014/2015 was held in Sandton on Sunday, May 17, when the players and clubs were awarded for their efforts during the most exciting season.

Mashamaite walked away with a whopping R450 000, winning three of the four categories he was nominated in. The Amakhosi defender walked away with the 2014/15 Footballer of the Season, Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season and the Absa Premiership Defender of the Season.

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise, who also had multiple nominations, scooped the Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season (R50 000) and the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament (R150 000).

Super Sport United’s Dove Wome won the Telkom Knockout Player of the Tournament (R20 000) while Kaizer Chief’s George Maluleka was named as the MTN8 Last Man Standing (R80 000).
