Another collision on N12 Voortrekker offramp

N12 highway continues to see more vehicle accidents

THERE was yet another vehicle accident on the N12 highway near the Voortrekker off-ramp on the morning of May 6.

This collision comes less than three weeks since at least seven vehicles experienced damages in an accident.

A VW Jetta 4 and a utility van collided at the interchange near the off-ramp on Voortrekker in Alberton.

The two drivers suffered no injuries, although both were dazed and the woman driving the VW Jetta was crying.

An eyewitness revealed that the VW Jetta was allegedly the cause of the accident as the driver was travelling at a high speed when she cut in front of the utility van that was coming from the Voortrekker bridge leading onto the N12.

“Unfortunately, the man driving the bakkie wasn’t in the wrong, the bakkie was coming from the top of the bridge onto the highway and the woman cut in front of him. Then the accident happened. I was right behind on the other lane and I witnessed everything,” said Mark.

Reporter, Zesuliwe Hadebe, alerted emergency services to the accident. Tow truck drivers arrived on-scene before emergency services.
