Assist foreign nationals to resettle

NFP calls for members to help victims of xenophobia return to their communities.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – NFP President urges Party members to go to asylum camps and assist foreign nationals in returning to their respective residential areas.

With xenophobic attacks that shocked the country and the world subsiding, the President of the National Freedom Party (NFP), Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi has called on all Party members to go to any refugee camps near them and assist those who are currently there to return to their respective residential areas.

“I make this clarion call to all our members to abhor the attacks against fellow Africans. But I urge them to go the extra mile by not only condemning these attacks, but they must go to any of the refugee camps near them and help our African brothers and sisters to return to their respective areas. We know that many of them managed to take only what their hands could handle as the violent attacks surged on.

“So, I encourage NFP members to assist them by offering transport, wheelbarrows or any means of transport so that they can return to where they have been staying since arriving in our country. I also urge our members to ensure that they assist them in rebuilding their homes as we know that some lost their houses during those barbaric attacks. We must do this in the spirit of ubuntu, because the Africa we want for our future generations is the one where all people live in harmony,” said KaMagwaza-Msibi.

KaMagwaza-Msibi maintained that the attacks were criminal. “Not a single person can loudly say that after chasing the foreign nationals out; today they own a business or have been employed,” she concluded.
