The Bag Lady

Another week closer to Easter and the long weekend! Are you going away or relaxing at home?

I’ll be spending time with my family and friends, enjoying dinner out one evening at a local restaurant, I may even eat an Easter egg, or two and I’ll definitely be relaxing and catching up on lots of reading. *See book review below.

Perfect eye shadow

I don’t know about you but when I wear eye shadow, after a while it all creases and looks a mess. Not anymore when you wear Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer. My daughter suggested I try it and it’s brilliant. A shadow primer that locks on more vibrant colour for a full 24 hours, with no fading, creasing or smudging, sweat and humidity resistant. For R250 it’s a bargain, available at some of the larger Woolworths stores. You need only apply a tiny amount, leave for a minute and then apply your eye shadow.  I’m really bowled over by how well it works.

A little help goes a long way

Over the years I’ve taken various vitamin tablets, but you know how it goes. I take them for a few weeks religiously, then every few days, eventually forgetting altogether until I sort out the medicine box and fine a whole load which have expired…. years ago!  For the past year I have been taking Vital Women, High-Potency Multi with Cranberry and Collagen every day and I feel great.  They work for me anyway and I’ll be carrying on taking them.

Book review

The Woman Who Fell in Love for a Week – by Fiona Walker. Jenny loves to house-sit, looking after a stranger’s enviably perfect home and pretending to be someone else – just for a bit. Fiona’s latest book, is a beautiful, disheveled old rectory in the Home Counties owned by the uber-successful Lewis family. Freed of teaching duties for the summer, and her own teenagers spending time with her objectionable ex, Jenny readies herself for a life of walk-in larders and sparkling water taps.

Battling to control the riotous family dog and stay cool in an unrelenting heat-wave, she discovers skeletons in the Lewis closet that further threaten to disrupt her idyll. But then a seductive new friendship offers her a surprise second chance: to open herself up to love again and to finally live life on her own terms. Laugh-out-loud funny, touching and romantic.

Bouquet of the Week

Dawn Hassett recently had cause to fit new tyres to her motor vehicle. “I phoned Donovan of Tiger Wheel & Tyre (the branch next to Builders Warehouse) on Tuesday morning, March 17 and took my vehicle in at 14:30 the same day. Donovan and his team fitted my tyres within an hour. I would like to extend a bouquet to Donovan and his team for their excellent service and excellent prices, all done with smiles on their faces, thank you guys!”

That’s it for this week, Shop till you drop!
