Hijackers target bar and shebeen patrons

Hijackers in the South follow motorists from bars and shebeens.

MOFFATVIEW SAPS would like to warn members of the public about the new modus operandi which is used to hijack vehicles.

The suspects study motorists who park their vehicles at shebeens or bars and drink until late. They then follow the drivers and attack when they least expect it at a convenient place.

Moffatview SAPS would like to warn people who are drinking until late to stop doing so, because they are contributing to a high rate of hijacking in the South.

Not long ago, Moffatview police arrested a man who was carrying a hijacking device used to shut off the tracker signal on hijacked vehicles, making it possible to escape and they successfully removed the tracker.

Hijackings in the South can be deadly and they are often so quick, motorists are better off leaving the shebeens or bars early enough to safely get home.
