Clean water flows down the drain, literally!
WEST TURFFONTEIN – When the COURIER arrived at corner Hammond Road and Allin Street, West Turffontein on Tuesday January 20, clean water were flowing down the street and it was for the sixth day.
Residents in Hammond Road woke up on Thursday January 15, to a fountain as clean water gushing through the air. As responsible citizen, Thabo Tsolo who lives in the area, contacted Joburg Water on that day to report water wastage.
“I phoned and got a reference number: 8002092113, however nothing happened, I also phoned again on Friday as nothing was happening until today (Tuesday January 20),” he explained.
Joburg Water External Communications Officer, Eleanor Mavimbela said, “There seems to have been a duplication of the ref numbers. The team did attend to a call on the same street for a meter inlet and hence the call was closed as that call was attended to. The call has been re-opened with the right address and the new ref number is 400307991 and it has been marked for urgent attention.”
