South African u.19 pace bowler, Lwadiswa Zuma’s (3/15), bowling figures was the best as the home side was restricted to 128 runs. The Cobras’ Reinhardt Fortuin (49) managing to give some respectability to his side’s innings.

The South African u.17 Invitational side came out on top by six wickets against Zimbabwe to finish fifth in the tournament. The team’s team bowler, Ziyaad Abrahams, bowled exceptionally well as he picked up five wickets for only 24 runs in his ten overs. He was also the only bowler of his side not to concede an extra as Zimbab was restricted to a mere 108 runs.

Ricardo Vasconcelos (41) did most of the work with the bat for the South African side as they reached the target with six wickets still in hand.

Chevrolet Knights managed to record their first victory of the tournament against the Chevrolet Warriors at Paul Roos Gimnasium. Marno van Greuning (71) scored a half-century as the Knights reached 270/7 in their allotted overs. bizhub Highveld Lions bagged their third successive Cricket South Africa’s Cubs Week title by defeating Unlimited Titans by three wickets in the final of the tournament in Stellenbosch over the weekend.

The Lions scored the winning runs with only two deliveries to spare, after South African u.19 opening batsman, Ryan Rickelton (129) laid the foundation with a century. Janneman Malan (129) came out of a purple patch with a century in which he showed a lot of courage, batting for more than ten over with a hamstring injury to help the Titans to 274/6 in their allotted 50 overs.

Sunfoil Dolphins defeated Nashua Cape Cobras in their clash to determine who will be placed third. The Dolphins’ Sohail Mahmood, produced an all-round performance to see the Dolphins home. Mahmood firstly sent three Cobras’ batsmen back to the changing room for the cost of only 17 runs in his ten overs.
