Natalspruit Hospital remembers World Radiography Day

The date marks the anniversary of the discovery of X-radiation by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Natalspruit Hospital celebrated the World Radiography Day on Friday November 7 at the newly opened facility in Vosloorus.

Radiographers showcased services offered at the Radiography Department, fitted with modern equipment such as a CT scanner, mammography, mobile radiography and fluoroscopy machines.

They also created awareness around diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy in healthcare management.

“We would like to use this opportunity to showcase our new department, which has state-of-the-art equipment. We will also create awareness on how the unit works, because, before hospital relocation, we used to refer patients to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital as our hospital did not have a CT scanner. But since relocation we offer a variety of services,” said Daisy Chauke, Head of Department at Radiography.

World Radiography Day is celebrated on November 8 each year. The date marks the anniversary of the discovery of X-radiation by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.
