Southern Derby Kaizer Chiefs vs Moroka Swallows

Kaizer Chiefs have rewritten the record books recording a winning streak of 15 wins in the Premier Soccer League over the weekend.

KaizerChiefs maintained their perfect start to the ABSA Premiership season with an eighth win in a row that took them ten points clear to the top of the log.

Amakhosi won their top-of-the-table tussle 1-0 against Ajax Cape Town the past weekend in Cape Town. The result on Sunday gave Chiefs a perfect 24 points from eight games with Ajax now among four teams’ ten points adrift.

“I must applaud the team, it was a good effort for them, but we don’t think of any records when we go onto the field. Someone will just tell me that the team has set a new record, “said head coach Stuart Baxter. “I am glad for them and hopefully they will keep their feet on the ground.”

The Southern-based team will take on Moroka Swallows in a Southern Derby on Wednesday October 22 at FNB Stadium.

The match will start at 19:30.

“We want to continue with our good run on Wednesday,” said Tsepo Masilela after recording the 15 wins. “However, we will play Swallows and it will be a new game.”
