Maybe there is a reader who may assist me with some advice on how to deal with my ongoing problem.

I live in Crown Gardens, and as these homes were built in and around 1946, our meters where installed on the neighbour’s property.

My neighbour refuses access to City Power for meter readings no matter what day they come to read meters. I have not been able to obtain a meter reading since June 10 last year and subsequently been billed on estimate. When pay as you go meters where allocated, he refused them entry as well and currently I have to foot the bill for a new application and installation.

They are home but just refuse anyone entry.

How is it possible that this neighbour gets away with such fraudulent behaviour and there is absolutely nothing I can do.

Despondent

  1. i would like to comment on the letter “I need access to my electricity meter”
i have been living in Crown Gardens for the past 5years and my ‘neighbour’ has her meter in my yard and not once has she ever asked for her reading!i will not allow anyone onto my property if i am not home, and with all the crime happening in the area i have arranged for the reading to happen over a weekend and have never had a problem with that!we have a neighbour that feels we are not “white enough” to be in this area and feels that they can enter our property when ever they want too,
we dont live in the old days anymore and if you need your reading why dont you grow up and ask or make arrangements to get your reading done!!!!
