JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – After receiving overbilled statements, 79-year-old Anna Strauss from Crown Gardens reported the problem as it brought her stress, but today she is happy it is resolved.
Anna received overbilled statements from January to April and she began panicking as it kept getting worse. however she confronted and was told to give it time as it would be fixed in a few months.
Today Anna, who receives pension as her only source of income,does not worry about her accounts as it has a negative amount due.
However, Anna wishes City Power would send her her statements on time as she cannot use the internet and has to travel to their offices to ask for a statement so she could know how much she should pay.
“I could not understand why my bills were so high at that time because I was using electronics only when it is necessary. I did not watch TV or burn two lights at once. when my bill was that high I knew something was not right,” said Anna.
