Well, an interesting conversation on WhatsApp regarding CPF Sector 2 ensued the other night, relating to the absolute rudeness of the chairperson of Oakdene Safety group to the secretary of the Sector 2 CPF.

As one can realise, she was quite intimidated and then walked out! I personally cannot blame her; in turn, I firmly told the group not to waste time on petty events and conversations such as these, and it is in fact Oakdene Community’s constitutional right to freedom of association.

Just after the WhatsApp conversation ended, a BBM was posted and an incident happened at the corner of South Rand Road and Johan Meyer Street, a JMPD officer pulled over a drunken driver, and this driver had the audacity to assault our JMPD officer, who in fact was only doing his job. I sincerely hope that he had the backup from Oakdene ‘CPF’ for the purpose of this letter, we will call this group of people and for ease of reference, the ‘Oakdene CPF’.

My question therefore is as follows, is JMPD not part of law enforcers? If this is so, did the Oakdene residents come to the aid of the officer? If not, it really shows double standards are applied by the Oakdene group! Or is it only the rich that counts? This is a challenge to the residents. If you didn’t come to the assistance of our JMPD officer, all I can say then is shame on you! Especially seeing the officer was only doing what he was employed to do! I sincerely hope that the driver was taken to Moffatview Police Station and locked up in a cell, and the keys thrown away!
