Johannesburg Water welcomes Cell C Take a Girl Child to Work

They learnt of the different types of departments it takes to keep Johannesburg Water running.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – TWENTY-nine young ladies spent a day with Johannesburg Water employees to get a taste of the working environment as part of the Cell C Take a Girl Child to Work initiative on Thursday May 29.

The young ladies from Education Alive School in grade 10 to 12 had a wonderful day and were armed with a lot of questions.

The future scientists, accountants and lawyers were taken to different departments of their choice within the company and spent a day within the department to see first-hand what a person in their choice of career does on a daily basis.

They got to see the process of how water reaches their taps, where and how their tap water is tested, and had an opportunity to visit the supporting departments within the company.

The future leaders were surprised to see and learn about the different types of departments it takes to keep a company like Johannesburg Water (JW) running.

The young ladies were also given a chance to speak to the current JW interns, and they were also given advice on how to choose a career that will be suitable for them and they were handed attendance certificates as a reminder of the day and the things that they had learnt through the experience.
