By-election DA candidates introduced

Manny de Freitas said that the two candidates have injected new energy into the campaign and into their respective communities; people are now motivated more than ever to work with the two candidates.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The Joburg South Constituency hosted a successful rally for the community. Manny de Freitas, Political head and Member of Parliament for Johannesburg South, and Clr Bongani Baloyi, the Executive Mayor of Midvaal, were the keynote speakers.

The Mayor of Midvaal, Bongani Baloyi, told the packed hall that the DA governs differently from the ANC. “Where the DA governs opportunities are created, employment is created and our government does all this without corruption; just like we do in Midvaal,” explained Mayor Baloyi.

The DA candidates for two upcoming by-elections were introduced to the audience. DA Ward 57 candidate Faeeza Chame, a community member who has lived in the area for many years, was introduced. “It is time that we use our power of voting to vote this corrupt government out,” Chame told a supportive crowd. She said that people are sick and tired of the crime and grime and now is the time for change.

DA Ward 58 candidate Mohammed Alex Christians was also introduced. Christians greeted everyone in isiZulu and said that action is needed. “Our community has been neglected long enough. We have created an environment of mistrust with our community and I want to change this,” Christians explained.

Manny de Freitas said that the two candidates have injected new energy into the campaign and into their respective communities; people are now motivated more than ever to work with the two candidates. “This will only contribute more to our success,” De Freitas concluded.
