Booysens community spruces up their area

Patrollers ask community members not to litter.

The Booysens community, street community members and the CPF began a clean-up campaign in their area on January 20.

This ongoing campaign aims to keep the area clean. Booysens patroller Steven Ndlovu said they started on Beaumont Street and will continue on Mentz Street, Nelson Road and Melville Street.

Booysens patroller Steven Ndlovu led the clean-up campaign.

“Our area is getting out of hand when it comes to littering and overgrown grass. There is dumping everywhere, almost like in Hilbrow. So we want to keep it clean, and thanks to all involved, including Pikitup, which gave us refuse bags, rakes and brooms. They also pick up all the filled plastic bags for us.

“We are meeting our government halfway. And we will monitor this to ensure the area stays clean. We also urge people not to litter,” explained Ndlovu.
