Mean Machines 2023 hosted for all car enthusiasts

After four years, the ultimate car show made a comeback, being a great success again.

Mean Machine 2023 was hosted on November 19 at The Social Hub, Alberton.

The day was fun-filled, with lots of giveaways and prizes. Donovan van Eck who goes by DJ Don Veck was the MC for the day, getting the crowd hyped up and energised with fun games and activities for young and old.

This included holding up a Coca-Cola bottle for as long as you can, blowing up balloons as big as you can, to testing everyone’s aim by throwing a helmet into a bin. Everyone tried their luck and all the winners received a special gift for their efforts.

The cars that entered the show ranged from customised modern Audis to classics and turbocharged sleepers.

With an array of specialised categories, everyone stood a great chance of winning at Mean Machines 2023.

The organiser, Dj Don Veck, said: “Our official photographer, ERM Studios KZN came from Hillcrest and we thank Graphics Genie KZN for their awesome work on our staff apparel and the beautiful cap they made for us that sold on auction for R1 600.

“We donated the money to Alberton Caregivers, to help reach their goal of building a frail care or old age home for expert elderly care of those who are too old to look after themselves.

“Thank you to Yolandie Coetzer for smashing the competition with your highest bid.”

The Mean Machine organisers thanked Godwin Eksteen from Turbo Magnificent for bringing his team to the event and for sponsoring the trophies for the day.

“A heartfelt thank you to RNB Auto Randhart for their contribution towards our prizes and for sponsoring all our free giveaways that everyone enjoyed receiving. My goal is to bring Mean Machines back to Alberton on December 1, 2024,” said DJ Don Veck.
