The Southern Suburbs Camera Club (SSCC) has provided a vibrant and welcoming community for photography enthusiasts in the southern suburbs.

This amateur photography club welcomes hobbyists of all ages, providing a dynamic and creative environment for those interested in capturing moments.

Meetings are on the second Thursday of every month, except in January, at the Glenvista Country Club.

In addition, they hold gatherings via Zoom on the last Thursday evening for the convenience of members near and far. This dual approach ensures that being a part of this inspiring community is not hampered by distance.

While the SSCC does not provide formal photography instruction, it serves as a platform for creatives to come together, sharing their images in a safe and supportive environment.

The highlight of these gatherings is the opportunity for members to have their work reviewed and appraised by qualified judges from across the country. This constructive feedback helps members grow as photographers and fosters a sense of camaraderie among participants.

One noteworthy achievement of the Southern Suburbs Camera Club is its consistent recognition as a top camera club in the country from the Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA) for the past two years.

The Southern Suburbs Camera Club invites those eager to explore the world of photography, elevate their skills, or seek inspiration. They encourage prospective members to attend a meeting, either in person at Glenvista Country Club or via Zoom, to experience the club’s offerings first-hand.

For queries or additional information, contact Clifford Els, the club’s point of contact, on 083 566 2456.

The Southern Suburbs Camera Club awaits individuals ready to capture the beauty of life through the lens and join a community passionate about the art of photography.
