These camps help Jackson informal settlement children to unite and learn.

Despite the last-minute change of venue camp from Miracle Day Care to the Presbyterian Church in the Jackson informal settlement, the children had fun.

The Jesu O Bitsa Bana Christian children’s holiday camp took place from October 2 to 6. Michelle Rawbone from the camp said they thank the Lord for all He did for the camp.

“The volunteers were all trained by the fire department on first aid and fire. The children had a wonderful time learning, playing and singing.

“They planted tomato plants to take home. Tina and Eddy Lear spoke to them about the importance of bees. Pikitup gave a demo on having a clean environment, while the fire department taught them about first aid and fire evacuation.

“The donations were amazing. We have to give a huge thank you to BENE Water, Buksies Resort Eikenhof, Meals on Wheels Walkerville, Henley Salvage, C&C Timbers, Melo Chicks, AT Wholesale nursery and some anonymous donors,” she said.
