Triple Crown continues to conquer

The Classic Carnival proved to be a success.

THE second leg of the SASCOC Triple Crown ran at the Big T on Saturday to a fantastic crowd of families and racing enthusiasts, while another ten finalists were drawn for the second of three VW Polo Vivo’s which organisers are giving away.

The Classic Carnival provided entertainment for both young and old as stilt walkers, jugglers and Cape Minstrels added to the excitement of top South African horse racing.

Louis the King went on to clinch the SA Classic, which is the second leg of the SASCOC Triple Crown, and is one step closer to bagging the R2 million bonus, should he win the final leg on Saturday April 26.

A Tiara will not be collected this year for the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara, as first leg winner Arcerti Pink could only manage fourth spot in the SA Fillies Classic, which was won by the Joe Soma trained Athina.

Attendance figures were up, which contributed to the 30 per cent increase in on-course tote turnover. Phumelela’s Marketing and Sales Executive Clyde Basel commented: “The vibe on-course was electric and race goers were entertained from the word go with the live broadcast of the Dubai World Cup, our own spectacular racing and obviously the excitement of the car giveaways, of which there is one more car to be given away on Champions Day at the end of the month!”

Don’t miss the final leg of the Triple Crown for your chance of driving home in a brand new set of wheels.
