‘The Blues’ badminton first team does well

Alberton High School’s badminton girls’ team was deservedly awarded after they came second during the SA Schools Badminton Tournament held from August 6 to 8 in KwaZulu-Natal.

The annual event saw schools from across the country take part and winning teams will compete in the All Africa Championships.

The school’s deputy principal, Natasha La Grange said: “This was quite an achievement for us. We had three teams, two girls’ teams and one boys’ team, that competed. The girls’ second team is there for development and they came bottom of the ladder but not last and the boys came fourth.”

She said the girls want to do exceptionally well in next year’s tournament.
