Miss Teen donates generously

Models and Pageantry SA Magazine (MPSAmag) donated desk bags worth R3 000.

ORMONDE – Twenty children from Zamanawe Women’s Project each received a desk bag from Miss Teen Roodepoort Tharina Botes at a party held in McDonald’s Ormonde on Tuesday April 1.

These bags to the value of R3 000 were donated by Models and Pageantry SA Magazine (MPSAmag), of which Tharina is the ambassador. “I was crowned last year November, and since then I do a lot of charity work in the community. This time I chose Zamanawe Women’s Project to donate these bags to. Some of the organisations we helped are Dorah’s Ark, St Lawrence, Donnovan McDonald Old Age Home, to name a few,” explained Tharina, who is also a Miss SA Junior finalist.

Zamanawe Women’s Project means ‘give it a try’ and that’s what they do. They are unemployed people who hand woven crafts to support themselves and feed their children. The project is based in Soweto.
