WATCH: Marist Brothers Linmeyer school tops with 182 distinctions

It was a special morning for the matrics of 2022, with Joshua Way being the top achiever with eight distinctions.

Marist Brothers Linmeyer announced their matric class of 2022 results and organised a festive welcome for learners who collected their results on January 18.

The learners and parents/guardians walked through a balloon arch with celebratory music playing in the background. They were welcomed by a cheerful group of Grade One learners who held brightly coloured balloons to congratulate them. What a special morning it was. Joshua Way was the top achiever with eight distinctions.

The principal, Regan Nicholas, said they are happy and that this had been one of their best achievements.

“We believe that each year, we achieve more. That makes us happy as a school. We prepared well. That is the reason we got a 100% IEB pass rate. More than 97% of learners got a bachelor’s pass and university exemption. That makes us proud.

“We wish them the best, and may the Marist characteristics – family spirit, love of work, in the way of Mary, presence and simplicity – guide and direct them through life,” said Nicholas.

The matric results were as follows:

• 100% IEB pass rate;

• 89 learners obtained bachelor’s degree passes;

• 1 diploma pass;

• 182 distinctions.
