Mondeor barber in Guinness World Record

Enrico feels his hard work paid off with a Guinness World Record.

Enrico Springfield (22), a barber from Mondeor broke a Guinness World Record for cutting five fades in 18.57 minutes.

Although he achieved this feat in August, it was aired on television in a show called Stumbo Record Breakers on October 31.

The official adjudicator from Guinness World Records London declared Enrico ‘officially amazing’ and presented him with a certificate.

The Southern Courier visited him at his workplace, Southside Barbershop in Mondeor, to congratulate him.
He said they started the barber shop in 2018, operating in Crown Mines.

“We moved up the road to Mondeor in 2020 and then to our current premises in July this year. Apart from cutting hair, we also do braiding, threading, and facial scrubbing. We also take care of your sneakers, cleaning them custom-made.

“I had a call from a lady who told me about the show and I was interested. Then in August, they came to do a shoot. At first, it was supposed to be an hour and we were supposed to do five skin fades. It then turned out that we were given 20 minutes. I did fades which started from neck to ear and had to use multiple clipper guards. I took about four minutes for each fade.

“I’m so excited about this achievement. It feels like all of my work is finally being recognised. This is all good achievement,” he said.

Southside Barbershop is located at 270 Columbine Road, Mondeor.
