Out of several schools, Parklands High School came first during the economic and management sciences (EMS) olympiad to represent the district.
This is after learners recently made their school proud as they took part in the District Olympiad competition.
Grade Eight learners from the school then represented the district at the provincial level on September 10.
They were evaluated with an EMS test and in other areas in the subject and outshined during the competition. They are yet to find out their results from the competition.
Rethabile Selepe, the EMS teacher, said: “This opportunity exposed them to exploring opportunities in economic and management sciences. It was also a learning curve for all of them. We’re very proud of them and I see a lot of potential in them.”
