WATCH: Suspect shot dead during failed gun shop robbery in Rosettenville

The other suspect managed to flee the scene.

Police are investigating a case of attempted business robbery after a suspect was shot dead on Prairie and Geranium Streets, Rosettenville on Tuesday.

According to the Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello, it is alleged that on July 26, two suspects entered the gun shop, pointed the owner with a firearm.

“The owner swiftly pulled out his firearm and started shooting at the suspects.”

Sello said one suspect was fatally wounded while the other one fled the scene.

“One firearm with a filled off serial number was found on the scene,” added Sello.
