JOHANNESBURG – “Nair has been suspended and formerly charged, in summary, on matters relating to supply chain management and Municipal Finance Management Act, pending a disciplinary enquiry instituted against her.
“Specific details of the charges levelled against Ms Nair cannot be made public at this stage, in pursuance of protecting the rights of both Pikitup and the employee.
“The enquiry confirms the City’s commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance as well as to the protection of the right to fair employment practices extended to its employees,” said Dr Nomonde Mabuya, Chairperson of Pikitup.
Ms Nair has been notified to attend a pre-disciplinary enquiry to be held on March 27.
