WATCH: Operation Dudula stages a march in Rosettenville

The protesters gathered at JC Lucas Park in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A number of people peacefully marched under the banner of Operation Dudula through the streets of Rosettenville on May 14.

Before the march kick-started, members of the South African anti-migrant group, operating under the slogan “Put South Africa First” gathered at JC Lucas Park in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Leading in front with the Operation Dudula banner and raising the South African flag high, the protesters sang and chanted anti-immigrant slogans through Johannesburg Road and Main Street and its surroundings.

Operation Dudula is a group from a faction in the Put South Africans First movement, an organisation that first popularised and renewed anti-immigrant campaigns on social media before finding expression on the ground.

The organisation targeted suspected drug dealers and people who were alleged to be illegally occupying government property.

As usual in most of their marches, they are demanding that the government have better policing and enforcement of the Immigration Act.
