Church takes ministry to cinema

The church continues with its outreach programmes especially on Saturdays.

Quwm Ministries, which was operating at Hoërkool Die Fakkel under Past Glenn Nandh, has moved to Nu Metro at The Glen Shopping Centre.

They enjoyed their grand opening on April 2, attended by almost 100 congregants.

Glenn said the Lord has been great to them as a church.

“We’ve achieved great things through God’s work. After the school didn’t renew our lease we had problems finding a new place. There were many rejections and no’s from different potential landlords until this opportunity arrived.

“What better way to take people to a place that they are familiar with? The good thing is that you get free coffee and parking for the whole day when you attend,” explained Glenn.

In the past year, they have been feeding the needy, especially the children and people in the informal settlement. They want to continue to uplift the community through the word of God and also help where they can.

Quwm is a Hebrew word that means arise. Nandh said their vision is to have a generation that will walk in their God-given gifts, set the captives free, heal the sick, feed the poor and save the lost.

“We are not only preaching salvation, on top of that we are doing what Jesus did: feed, restore, heal and help people. That is what God asks us to do, that is what the Bible told us. The mandate is to help people.

“We want to meet God’s people at their place of need, such as their own communities by using technology as a tool to exponentially spread the Gospel. And in the future, we want to do tent crusades and outreach programmes to reach a larger number of people, be in the community where people need us most,” he said.

The service starts at 09:00 on Sundays, and the parking tickets are valid for the entire day.
