Kibler Park boxer’s TKO lands him the WBF All Africa title

In a fight that went on until the eighth round, boxer Lybon Ntshani bashed Khumbulani Mdletshe to win the vacant World Boxing Federation All Africa title.

Also known as Ricky the Freezer, Lybon Ntshani knuckled Khumbulani Mdletshe to win the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) All Africa welterweight title on February 26.

The Kibler Park boxer became a professional boxer in 2018 under Habib Boxing Gym and has since made great strides in this fraternity.

He has been involved in many sporting codes and is gunning to make a name for himself in boxing as a world champion.

After his recent fight with coach Vusi Mtolo in his corner, Ntshani, who fought in the welterweight boxing division, said everything went as planned despite being in a foreign province with no supporters. His fight was held in KwaZulu-Natal.

“It was a tough fight because it was my opponent’s home town and he was the crowd’s favourite. All I could hear during the fight was how people cheered him on. But I concentrated on what my coach told me in the corner,” he said.

After a lengthy fight, Ntshani got a technical knockout win in the eighth round.

“I thank God, Ludonga Boxing Promotions and promoter Zweli for hosting me. Fighting in a ‘foreign land’ means you need to be mentally strong and have a great team supporting you. I thank my family for being there when I need them,” said Ntshani.

He also thanked his manager, Colleen McAusland, Shereen Hunter of Unleashed Promotions and his coach, Vusi Mtolo.
