A witness told the court that Oscar Pristorius prayed, “Please let her live!”

PRETORIA – The fourth day of Oscar Pristorius’ trial revealed a slightly different twist when Mr Johan Stipp testified that Pistorius looked sincere when he cried for help on the night he shot ex-girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

According to Stipp who lives not far from Pristorius’ house and can see the bathroom where Steenkamp was shot from his balcony; when he approached Pristorius, he said; “I shot her, thought she was an intruder.”

Stipp testified, “Oscar kept praying with tear on his face, ‘please let her live’, he went on to make promises to God while he was praying.”

He said this as he told the court that he believes Pistorius tried to help her. Stipp said, “He was actively trying to assist her.”

Earlier in the trial, witnesses spoke about how they heard four shots after they heard the screaming of a woman. After the shooting they also heard a man cry out for help.

The court was adjourned on day four after hearing Stipp’s testimony in court.
