Linmeyer Awareness Group meets with business owners

The area will be closed off in the next few weeks and will offer residents two guarded entrances and a few temporary entry points.

The Linmeyer Awareness Group (LAG) met with local business owners about the closure of the area on November 15 in the park on the corner of Johan Meyer Road and Risi Avenue.

LAG was started six years ago by the community to help to improve the Linmeyer area.

The meeting was attended by members of SAPS, JMPD, National Security and the business owners of the Linmeyer area with the idea of cooperation between all the relevant role-players being discussed.

The closure of Linmeyer area has already started at the end of 2019 but was forced to be put on hold due to the breakout of the pandemic.

The community started the project with everyone offering assistance from welding and building the gates to making sandwiches and bringing water to the workers.

The area will be closed off in the next few weeks and will offer residents two guarded entrances and a few temporary entry points.
