Two suspects killed in South Hills house robbery

Another two suspects were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Two suspects were killed and another two suspects injured after a shooting ensued during a house robbery on Holmdene Street, South Hills.

The incident took place this Monday afternoon, July 5 at around 13:30.

According to Booysens SAPS communications officer Capt Lorraine van Emmerik, the complainant was at the main house sleeping when she heard someone forcing the door open.

“Two unknown males entered the house and started ransacking the house, they took a television set, cellphone and cash.”

“While the two suspects were busy robbing the complainant. Another five suspects went to the back of the house and started to rob the tenants,” she said.

Van Emmerik said one of the tenants is a policeman and when he heard what was happening, he reacted and his training took over.

A shootout ensued as the suspects were also armed.

Two suspects were killed and another two suspects were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Three suspects managed to flee the scene. All relevant role players were also contacted and on the scene.

Booysens SAPS have opened a case of house robbery and double inquest docket. Investigations are still ongoing.
