Ward Councillors donate soup to South Rand Hospital

The soup was handed over to Matron Khubeka, Matron Maphipha and Mary Manetha, who is the hospitals food service manager.

With the sharp rise in Covid-19 cases recently, the South Rand Hospital, like most other hospitals in the country, has seen an increase in people being admitted who require something healthy and nutritious to eat.

In light of this local ward councilors, Michael Crichton and Faeeza Chame, spoke to some sponsors and managed to have three crates of soup made which was donated to the South Rand Hospital on January 14.

The soup was handed over to Matron Khubeka, Matron Maphipha and Mary Manetha, who is the hospitals food service manager.

Councillor Crichton said, “I really hope that the patients will enjoy this soup. We realise that this is not an easy time for them and that it’s important for them to receive nutritious meals.

“Let me take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors and the hospital staff for their assistance with receiving the donation.”
