Sandy gives back for her birthday

“I have been living in the area for 23 years and this is my way of giving back. I always say charity should begin in your community,” said Sandy.

Sandy Kantilal’s birthday wish this year was to give back to the community.

So instead of having a birthday picnic at home with her family and friends, she decided to take the money and buy essential goods for those in need.

Although Sandy’s birthday was on September 14, the 54-year-old and her two sons handed out food parcels to the less-fortunate on the corner of Delphinium and Hennie Alberts streets in Brackenhurst on September 12.

“I have been living in the area for 23 years and this is my way of giving back. I always say charity should begin in your community,” said Sandy.

“I want to improve the lives of others with the little I do.”
