Controlled access parks now open to public

The access-controlled parks will operate from 6am to 6pm daily.

The City of Ekurhuleni’s access-controlled community parks are now open and ready to welcome back members of the public.

Following the president’s announcement of the country’s move to Level Two, effective from August 18.

However, residents are urged to follow the Covid-19 rules of always maintaining a social distance of 1.5m, wearing of masks and regularly sanitising or washing hands.

The access-controlled parks will operate from 6am to 6pm daily. Security guards at the gate will monitor and manage the number of people entering the parks to avoid overcrowding.

Access-controlled parks opened include: 

• Bokkie Park
• Blaaupan Dam
• Gillooly’s Farm
• Dries Niemandt Park
• Bulithando Multi-purpose Park
• Nomathamsanqa Multi-purpose Park
• Barcelona Regional Park
• Germiston Lake 
• Alberton Dam
