ADT hosts safety skills for children

Fun-filled home safety interactive show for pre-primary and primary school children, run by ADT Security and hosted by entertainer, Darrin McDowall.

REUVEN – The Mustard Seed Christian Academy in Reuven welcomed ADT Security to do a children security educational show hosted by Johannesburg entertainer Darrin McDowall on Wednesday January 29.

The show was all about the importance of safety in their home surroundings. Darrin spoke about personal safety, including not putting pills or anything in children’s mouths without asking their parents first, dangers in the kitchen, electricity safety – not touching or pulling plugs, not playing with fire, matches, lighters or candles. He also talked about the danger of playing with guns, how to behave around dogs and home invasion – what to do when a stranger comes into your house.

This interactive fun-filled show has been successfully rolled out in Gauteng and in the Western Cape to rave reviews from both teachers and scholars.

Children are never too young to be educated and made aware, in a non-threatening manner, of the dangers that exists in the society. Darrin has a fun, friendly way of addressing these pertinent issues. He has found the happy medium as this show, which lasts 40 minutes, keeps children informed and entertained.

These shows are hosted by ADT free of charge to schools. Should a teacher or parent be interested in booking a show for their pre-primary and primary schools, they can contact Tamryn Carr on 086 12 12 400 or email tcarr@adt.co.za
