GALLERY: Inzuzo Community Health Care marches against gender-based violence

“The march was to commemorate Women's Month by tackling an issue that is still breaking down our economy and society.”

Inzuzo Community Health Care and Social Projects from Lawley stood in solidarity with women against gender-based violence (GBV) on August 10 to break the silence against GBV.

Founder of Inzuzo Herman Dlamini said their mission is to stand in power and strength against GBV.

“The march was to commemorate Women’s Month by tackling an issue that is still breaking down our economy and society.”

While keeping to regulations and maintaining social distancing, men and women dressed in black took to the streets to make it clear that women are not alone and that people should speak out and break the silence.

According to Dlamini, members of Inzuzo come from different generations and different social backgrounds, and they all came together for the march in the streets of Lawley.

“This is our first campaign of this kind to reach out to the community against GBV. Nine men led the group of 36 women and we had great support from the community on our social media platforms,” Dlamini said.

“We even had learners attending. This march was a success.”
