Vegetable garden keeps South Hills residents fed and busy

Anyone who wishes to assist can contact Chame on 081 329 7424.

Ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame is proud of the residents of New South Hills Development RDP homes because of the vegetable garden they have started.

She said they don’t let unemployment and Covid-19 get them down.

“They started their own garden in the complex to grow fresh vegetables. It is a community project. They approached me for assistance. I have sent out requests to companies including Calgro; however, it was all in vain.

“I am appealing to anyone who can sponsor them with spades, wheelbarrows, hosepipes, plants, fencing and funnels. Let us grow our communities together,” said Chame.

Anyone who wishes to assist can contact Chame on 081 329 7424.
