Four killed in accident

Motorists killed on Saturday January 18 after an accident on the N12 Golden Highway.

N12 GOLDEN HIGHWAY – On Saturday January 18 at about 11:00 SAPS members were clearing rocks on the Golden Highway, after they had been thrown from the top of a bridge by criminals, who throw them in the hope the vehicles will stop and then the criminals will hijack them.

The driver of an Opel Astra hit one rock and swerved to avoid others, going into oncoming traffic, hitting a Toyota Yaris.

Spokesperson, Synock Matobako, said, “The driver of the Toyota Yaris was killed instantly and two of the occupants of the Opel Astra, including the driver died on the scene. A third occupant died in hospital and one other passenger was admitted to Chris Hani Baragwanath  Hospital for treatment.

Matobako warns motorists to be careful on the N12 Golden Highway as several motorists have been victims of hijacking following the same operandi.
