South Hills woman survives stabbing

Woman helped by a passing car as she was being attacked.

A 37-year-old woman and her daughter were walking home when they were allegedly attacked by two unknown males in South Hills on January 10.

According to the woman, the two men were driving a vehicle that had no registration plates.

“They just came towards us and they pushed us to the ground. They demanded cellphones and money,” said the woman.

While they were still on the ground one of the men started dragging the victim’s daughter, but the woman said she held onto her daughter.

“As I was holding onto my daughter’s legs I just felt a bang on my back. I thought they were punching me, but they were stabbing me,” she said.

She told the COURIER while on the ground they recognised someone they know passing by.

“We screamed out his name and he made a U-turn and that’s when the two males fled.

“I was admitted to the hospital to be assessed because I had sustained several injuries,” she concluded.

The COURIER learned that the victim’s daughter has been receiving counselling.

She told the COURIER that she opened a case with Moffat View SAPS.

The COURIER tried contacting Moffat View SAPS and we have been waiting for comment since January.
