Johannesburg Flying Squad makes six arrests, recovers stolen vehicles

Hard work over the weekend yields positives for JHB Flying squad.

Johannesburg Flying Squad’s hard work resulted in the arrest of six suspects.

The arrests, made from January 31 until February 3, included three for attempted murder and three for murder.

The members of the Flying Squad were also able to recover two motor vehicles and four unlicensed firearms, including two 9mm Tauruses, one CZ P-7 and a 9mm Girsan pistol with ammunition.

The two vehicles recovered are a White Hyundai H100 which was reported stolen and a White Land Rover reported as hijacked.

JHB Flying Squad communications officer Raymond Sambo said the investigations for all the cases are ongoing.

“SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that for any information regarding the vehicles, people may contact the relevant detective quoting their relevant case number,” said Sambo.

All six suspects will be appearing in different Magistrate’s Courts soon, facing charges of attempted murder and murder.
