NPO aims to help less fortunate children in the south

Organisation set to help the less privileged children of the south.

Ayanda ‘Silent Killer’ Hadebe and Samuel Robert Lumu have joined forces to help less privileged children in the southern areas.

The duo recently established a non-profit organisation called Lumu Community Based Organisation.

The Rosettenville-based organisation aims to reach out to children who go to bed without a meal and those who are in need of school uniforms.

The organisation has a centre which accommodates children who wants to play games and do activities of their choice.

Ayanda, who is known as a skhothane, said they don’t only give food and clothes, but conduct campaigns for girls as well.

“We give them sanitary pads because some of the girls can’t afford it, therefore, we want to come to their aid.

“Feeding the less fortunate is amazing because you are putting a smile on that individual’s face.

“We also offer educational talks to learners. We are all about helping children,” said Ayanda.

The duo also requests help from members of the public to help them run the organisation.

“We need sponsors and donors to come forward and work with us to fight poverty,” said Ayanda.

The organisation would appreciate donations of clothes, shoes, toys, food, toiletries, stationery, scholarships and bursaries.

The organisation can be contacted on 011 436 9474 and 073 444 1337 or at lcbon256@gmail.com and through www.lumucommunitybasedorganisation.com
