Varsity Football semi-final fixtures will take place on September 12.
The Varsity Football semi-final fixtures will take place on September 12 and will both take place at the same venue, University of Western Cape (UWC) Sports Stadium.
Following the immense success of Round Three’s Northern Double Header in Pretoria, the top four teams of Varsity Football 2019, table-toppers UWC, TUT, UP-Tuks and NWU, will now battle it out at UWC Sports Stadium to see who wins to go through to the coveted final, scheduled for September 26.
“This is an idea we have been playing with and, after speaking to the relevant stakeholders, we decided that UWC Sports Stadium would be the ideal venue for the semi-final double header,” said Varsity Football manager Xhanti-Lomzi Nesi.
“The Western Cape has a huge football following and it will give fans the opportunity to suss out their competition as well.”
TUT and UP-Tuks will kick-off the action at UWC Sports Stadium with their semi-final at 4pm, followed by UWC facing NWU at 6.15pm. The last time these teams met, TUT walked away with top honours in Round One, beating UP-Tuks 1-0 while UWC dramatically beat NWU just last week, 3-2.
