Ready to conquer social ills

SOUTH HILLS – The Conquerors Mind Ammunition, TCMA is about overcoming obstacles through the power of the mind.

It is about the youth being liberated through positivity and self-empowerment. Ammunition describes how the youth can protect themselves, destroy and cope with negative influences. They can use their mind as a positive force to actively engage in the community and make a higher impact to sustain themselves.

Founded last year on September 9 by Xolile Nyhila, a youth from the community of South Hills who took it upon himself to be the difference he wants to see not only in his community but in other underprivileged communities.

This organization was established by the youth for the youth who have a vision in empowering themselves and others who are willing to make a difference within themselves. “We cannot just sit back; we want to be hands on in changing our community especially South Hills. This area belongs to us and we are the ones who will make it a habitable society.

“South Hills is a multiracial poverty ravaged community that consists of mainly youth that are unemployed. Because of poverty, many high school graduates/matriculants do not have access to further developmental opportunities, high school dropouts are on the increase and drugs and alcoholism are prominent. In the core face of these challenges TCMA would like to tackle these issues faced by the youth by having interactive platforms and forums where youth can participate in creative activities that will catapult them into becoming responsible and productive citizens,” said Xolile.

TCMA is having this upcoming event whereby youth minds will come up with ideas and which as TCMA will assist communities to all ideas that will benefit young people. This event will take place on Saturday November 30.
