YUE Gong appeared in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on June 19 facing charges of contravening the Medicine and Related Substance Act 101.
This follows her arrest on June 18 when the Hawks and Johannesburg Flying Squad raided her house in Esserman Street following a tip-off from the public.
Police found a factory at the back of the property where illegal substances were being made and packaged. Police estimated the value of the illegal goods at over R3-million.
Gong was released on bail of R2 000 and the case has been postponed to August 16.
